How We Can Help
In an effort to maximize the sharing of information and promote inter-agency collaboration, Staff Development & Training offers the following eLearning related services. If you are interested in participating in any or all of them, just send us an email.

Weekly Workgroups- Whether it is a requested topic, a new or emerging trend, something we are excited about or a "How-to" session, SD&T offers workgroup sessions on Friday mornings, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. These sessions are designed to be practical, focused and comprehensive. Our goal is for you to always walk away with something you can use immediately.
To respect everyone's time, we only hold these sessions when there are topics to be covered. Appointments are sent out via email when a session is scheduled. To add your name to the distribution list for this workgroup, just send us an email. Meetings are held at Staff Development & Training, 2638 Two Notch Road- Suite 217, Columbia, SC 29204.

One on One Consultation- Sometimes the topics that are requested are very specific to an organization or maybe you just need some additional time dedicated to your project. If that's the case then we offer one on one consultations to other South Carolina State Government Agencies. Just bring the work you've started, an outline you created, or just come with an idea. We will help you decide what authoring tool(s) to use, the best method of delivery, ensure solid instructional design, suggest supporting resources and help you provide quality eLearning that will have a positive impact on your organization.
This service is incredibly helpful if your organization is new to eLearning and you want to develop a demonstration to show management and executive staff the capabilities and benefits of incorporating this type of training into your existing methodology.

Job Shadowing- If you want to be involved in a project from beginning to end, then this is the option for you. It could be developing an online course, automating forms, converting VHS/DVD videos to online courses, developing a logo, creating podcasts or producing a video. You can be involved in the process from the initial meeting with the subject matter expert (SME), through the development and quality assurance processes to the final approval. This service allows you use the authoring tools, see how different tools compliment each other and observe the processes that ensure the desired outcomes. Today's trainers can really increase their value to an organization by being familiar, not only with teaching and instructional design, but graphics design, creation of audio and video components, process automation and having a willingness to try and recommend new methods of training and delivery.
New projects will be sent out to the group via email and you can decide if it is a project you are interested in learning more about. How much time you dedicate to a project is up to you.

Building your Toolbox- You got buy-in from your organization, you got the green light to purchase some software and hardware, you may even have been assigned an initial project and been given a deadline. The next step is critical since you probably have limited funds and want to get the most for your money. This service will help you determine what the most critical hardware and software purchases are for the type of content that you want to develop.
